[00:00:00] Picture this. You've got perfect isolation. Your matrix is placed. You've etched and bonded,

[00:00:05] and you're going to place in foldable. You look up and see your assistance back running out of the

[00:00:09] operator because you're out of foldable tips. Maybe it doesn't happen in your office, but if you're like most

[00:00:14] offices, it sometimes does. We try to organize every aspect of our business, but let's face it,

[00:00:19] maintaining order in the midst of a busy practice is easier said than done. Small oversights can snowball

[00:00:24] into big challenges, running out of supplies and displacing instruments in the worst of all, when your

[00:00:28] assistant has to leave chair side to retrieve something they forgot. What's the solution? A lean

[00:00:33] clinical workflow, a systematic approach that brings order to the chaos, benefiting dental practices

[00:00:38] of all sizes. And the only one leading to charge in this revolution is Zirk, the company behind the

[00:00:43] best dental material ever used. They've created the color method, a lean clinical workflow framework

[00:00:48] designed to transform the way your team stores materials, restocks materials and reprocesses

[00:00:53] instruments. You've heard us talk about it before and now it's time to take action.

[00:00:57] Picture a practice where every instrument has its place, where supplies are never depleted,

[00:01:01] and where the overwhelming amount of instruments and materials gives way to a seamlessly organized

[00:01:05] workflow. Don't let the disorder of things dictate your day. Join the movement towards efficiency

[00:01:10] and excellence with Zirk's color method. Visit color method dot com today to get a free demo,

[00:01:40] Alan Me is a dentist with too much time on his hands and too much recording equipment in his

[00:01:44] basement armed with an obsession to bring entertaining and informative content to the dental world.

[00:01:50] In a way that's never been done before, I give you the Alan Me experience.

[00:01:59] Well hello and welcome to another episode of the Alan Me experience. I'm your host Dr. Alan Mead

[00:02:05] and I'm a dentist, a podcaster and a survivor of the Chicago Midwinter 2024. That's right.

[00:02:13] I just got back from the midwinter and I'm really excited to tell you a little bit about it.

[00:02:19] Some stuff that happened and I can tell you this. I didn't know that I was going to be able to

[00:02:26] get so much content recorded. I mean, I have recorded at the midwinter multiple times

[00:02:33] and I didn't know what to expect because I didn't line up anyone's booth to sit in or anything

[00:02:38] like that. Irene had told me that there was a podcasting booth. I didn't know what to expect.

[00:02:43] I brought my gear in such a way that I could literally record without even having a plug.

[00:02:48] Like, I have some mobile gear that does that. In any case, I didn't know what to expect.

[00:02:53] I had a few people lined up. Like, I think I had maybe two people lined up to talk with.

[00:03:00] Not sure what to expect because like I kind of just went hoping that I'd see someone to talk to.

[00:03:06] Obviously there's lots of stuff to see on the exhibit. I haven't been to the Chicago Midwinter

[00:03:10] exhibit floor since 2020. So COVID kind of put the kibosh on me going to that meeting.

[00:03:15] And I have been going to the midwinter since I was in dental school. Actually, my dad was a big

[00:03:20] oh, a big participant in the Chicago Midwinter. So it's always a fun meeting for me.

[00:03:27] And I had an excellent time. Like, I might have done the midwinter

[00:03:32] the best that I've ever done. My only regret is that I didn't stay for Saturday. Like, I left early

[00:03:37] Saturday morning. I got there on Thursday. I got there Thursday morning. And I had some,

[00:03:44] I had like a lunch and some stuff that I so I couldn't go. I couldn't really be on the floor

[00:03:48] the whole time there knowing what I know now. And if they're going to continue the podcast lounge

[00:03:55] there which was really cool. It was really cool. I will plan to be there for three days. And I might

[00:04:01] or might not we'll see line up more people to record with because honestly I found a ton of people

[00:04:05] to record with. So anyhow, that's sort of a long and short of it. I have, I found a bunch of

[00:04:11] things exciting about this trip. Some things that I learned, some people I talked to, some products

[00:04:16] I saw this. So I'm going to just give you a little bit of that. So first, I drove in my son had the

[00:04:22] their they he's in the band in high school. He's in the high level band in high school.

[00:04:27] They had their pre-festival concert. They do a festival which is all the bands across the

[00:04:32] across the area compete and they have their festival next weekend. And so Wednesday,

[00:04:38] the Wednesday night before the midwinter was there. They're pre-festival concert. And I wasn't

[00:04:43] going to miss that. So I drive to the midwinter. I don't fly to the midwinter because I actually

[00:04:48] enjoy the drive. And I have found it to work out okay on some level. If you decide to pay valley fees

[00:04:56] for your car if you drive at a hotel, you might as well fly because it's really expensive to do that.

[00:05:02] And in the past, I've just done it and sucked it up. But this year, I found something that works

[00:05:07] really well. You guys probably all heard about this for us new for me. So my friend Bart told me

[00:05:10] about this app called the Spot Hero app. So I downloaded it and it's really cool. Like you can reserve

[00:05:18] a parking spot in a parking garage. And I mean like when I open the app up there are like 10 parking

[00:05:25] garage within a block or two of my hotel. So I have actually parked in this parking garage.

[00:05:31] Last time I went to Chicago, I parked in this parking garage without Spot Hero. Luckily found a

[00:05:36] spot and found myself still saving money because okay, valley parking allows you to do the in and out.

[00:05:42] You can take your car, you can park and then you can come in and out. I think that's what the extra

[00:05:46] they charge you for that for sure. I don't do that once I get a shower. I don't need my car

[00:05:51] until I'm leaving. So for one thing, the valley parking means no sense. So the Spot Hero,

[00:05:56] it's significantly less expensive. It's cool. You make a reservation and it's from a time to a

[00:06:01] time. So it's when you know when you're going to get in and know you're going to leave. And then all

[00:06:05] it does, it gives you like a QR code on your phone that you just swipe in front of the

[00:06:09] and you only have to take a ticket from the thing is so cool. So I parked Thursday morning.

[00:06:15] I walked my bag over, you know, I had a suitcase, I walked my suitcase over to my hotel which was

[00:06:21] less than a block away and just stored it like they check your bag. I wasn't going to check into later

[00:06:28] that afternoon and then shoot. I got there so early that I didn't think I was going to go over

[00:06:32] to the meeting in the morning because I had a lunch at noon that I had to go to. It was actually

[00:06:38] over at the high at which was where the lab day was. I didn't go to lab day and like the problem is

[00:06:44] you can't be in two places at once. That's the problem. It's that whole thing about existence. There's

[00:06:50] no way to be in two places at once. In any case, lab day apparently is quite the show too. But I went

[00:06:57] to a meeting in the high at which was not at lab day. It was sort of near lab day anyhow. So I

[00:07:05] went over to the midwinter meeting and I had already, I'm a member of the Chicago dental

[00:07:11] society and have been for like 20 some years. I already had my badge so all I had to do is pick up

[00:07:15] a little lanyard and I went right up and lo and behold I walked right up and said wow there's

[00:07:20] there is a podcasting booth now they had multiple tables and you were supposed to sign up

[00:07:25] for the table but no one on Thursday. No one was in there and I hadn't signed up so I just went

[00:07:29] ahead and I just went ahead and planted it there and like within moments, I had people actually a bunch

[00:07:35] of people that had been from Bennett, Voice Identity, I will have them this is I recorded an

[00:07:40] episode with them was quite funny. It was Tom Brown and Vanessa Vittigliano and all these

[00:07:44] some friends from from back in the VOD days and we recorded with them that was quite funny

[00:07:51] and then I had to go actually then I found the Cadre guys and said hello and they showed me

[00:07:58] the Trio's five. I'll tell you what man, I've been looking at it, I've been looking at videos,

[00:08:05] been looking at it and stuff and the thing about it is that I actually recorded with a guy from

[00:08:09] ThruShape Justin is his name he was a sales guy that was kind of a thruShape guy that was actually

[00:08:15] hanging out at the at the Cadre booth and so I grabbed him and he told me a whole bunch of stuff

[00:08:21] about the Trio's five, the pros of it how it's changed. Basically I wanted to know about the evolution

[00:08:26] of the Trio's scanners and yes he is a thruShape guy so he's a sales guy but I feel like I got a lot

[00:08:34] of good information. It's a very compelling piece of equipment I'm going to tell you that like if

[00:08:39] it does what it says it does at the price, the price point is less than 30,000 dollars is 20.

[00:08:46] I think with all the software all the bells and whistles I think it's less it's like 29. It might be

[00:08:50] between 26 and 29 that comes with a computer and everything 26,000. I mean it's not they're not

[00:08:56] giving them away but the story is what's interesting to me about inter-oral scanners is how the price point

[00:09:06] has come down because if you remember back when Jason and I were first doing the podcast I think he

[00:09:13] got a Trio's three I think it was a three and it was like there's like 50,000 dollars some like that

[00:09:19] I mean this was a wired unit that was and I mean I think it was the Trio's has been kind of the

[00:09:25] high-end scanner on them in the market for a long time but thruShape made a point of changing that

[00:09:32] high-end price point they did they really did. I'd love to have been a fly on the wall in that

[00:09:37] marketing meeting but so now you get this high-end wireless scanner for 30 less than 30,000 dollars

[00:09:44] so all of a sudden it starts looking like I mean and of course you've got a met it

[00:09:51] you can get a met it like I have actually the met at i600 this one Zach has for like

[00:09:56] for sub 15k you know so all of a sudden they're making it kind of it's not so expensive or so hard

[00:10:05] to dip your toe into digital impressions anymore and the reality is like that there's

[00:10:13] you I mean the 15k for the met it or even the 30k for the highest of high-end I mean that's

[00:10:19] that is actually relatively justifiable it seems like to me so I'm pretty excited about all that

[00:10:24] way ahead of good conversation about that and I will have that in a podcast coming up

[00:10:28] so I also this is great like literally the first 10 minutes that I'm in on the floor I'm over

[00:10:34] at the Cadbury booth talking with Armin and Damien and all the in John all the guys over there

[00:10:39] and home behold David Hornbrook that David Hornbrook yes the David Hornbrook walks by and I'm like

[00:10:45] David I ran away one of the printer guy Wayne was trying to show me the printers and I saw David

[00:10:50] and I said give me a second I went over I said I to David and in we I got him I got him I got

[00:10:57] an interview with David the next day he came in we got to it was very cool it was so good so

[00:11:01] I ran it I got a good interview nice long interview with David Hornbrook that I'll be putting out soon

[00:11:06] ran into tooth life Irene that Irene you know we and basically we have really good chemistry we

[00:11:11] had a really funny interview so of course I went over to the Innova Illumination booth because they're

[00:11:17] my they're good friends of mine they've always worked with the podcast they have loops and headlamps

[00:11:21] and microscopes and so they have a new a new technology loop the higher higher level magnification

[00:11:29] than they've had I've been bugging them for about it for a while because I have some really nice

[00:11:33] innova loops but it's at a lower magnification than I'm used to so to be honest I don't use them

[00:11:38] as much as I would because they were lower magnification so I actually when I'm in loops which is a

[00:11:43] lot of the time I don't do everything in the microscope I have their their surgical headlamp

[00:11:48] with a pair of design servision six pointos and of course six pointo means it doesn't it all depends

[00:11:55] on your focal length and I since I had been sitting for the longest time in like a saddle chair

[00:11:59] it's kind of sitting upright I had a longer focal length so it was probably more like a 4.8 or

[00:12:04] 5 in any case so I put their loops on for the first time with no headlamp or anything like that they're

[00:12:09] they're 5.5 magnification allegedly that's that's what they call it of course all magnification really

[00:12:15] depends on focal length but in any case what was really interesting about it right off the bat is

[00:12:20] I know that when you put a high magnification loop like that on without a headlamp you don't see

[00:12:28] very much because it's pretty dark in other words when you're up that high magnification you really

[00:12:32] need a lot of light to get a good image and these were high magnification and they were much brighter

[00:12:39] without a light I have no idea how they did it I asked them I said what do you do and they said

[00:12:44] multiple times they said they're designed in Korea so I don't it's either a secret or they're not

[00:12:51] sure exactly but in any case I've never really seen anything like it it's pretty amazing I'm getting

[00:12:56] a pair I'm getting a pair of the 5.5 and Nova loops I can't wait to tell you about them

[00:13:01] I think in Nova first off they had a big booth and they had they had allegedly I think they said

[00:13:08] they had 14 team members and when I was over there they were all busy all the time it was crazy

[00:13:13] I think in Nova I was really money on in Nova but I think they are kind of they're

[00:13:17] they're really up and coming plus they have the microscopes they distribute the zoom x microscopes

[00:13:22] they had a scope in Chicago which is cool but it's the same scope that I have so I mean it's

[00:13:27] that was not such a thrill because I've already said so I was more thrilled by the loops in any case

[00:13:31] I talked with Scott Green who's who's kind of the guy who started to Nova illumination one of

[00:13:36] the guys who did we talk about their loops and then so I had seen I think in an ad maybe on

[00:13:43] Instagram I'm a big fan of a company called LM if you've ever seen them the LM RTA that was

[00:13:50] they were composite instruments put together by the oh I forget the group um

[00:13:56] style of tallyano they sort of designed some instruments for LM well LM is a European

[00:14:00] instrument maker and I have some of their instruments I really like their instruments but

[00:14:06] what's been weird is they don't really have a distributor and you know they their

[00:14:10] distributorship was weird like you weren't exactly sure

[00:14:14] I think Patterson distributed them some at some smaller companies but the reality is they didn't

[00:14:18] have like a wide distributor and they I think they had a limited the instruments were limited

[00:14:24] that you could get well it turns out Garrison who everyone knows Garrison because they have

[00:14:29] the sectional matrices and they have they kind of they kind of put sectional matrices on the map

[00:14:34] they're actually company from midland or Michigan they're they're from West Michigan or by

[00:14:39] Grand Rapids well I went over to Garrison um to take a look at these things so so usually they're

[00:14:44] just selling you know uh composite matrices and wedges that's sort of their main thing well now

[00:14:49] they got they got beautiful beautiful instruments are the best instruments ever and I got a chance to

[00:14:54] talk with them I did not podcast with them but I put a bug in their ear so that we should be having

[00:14:59] a podcast because I want to know how it was it's a really it's a really good match composite matrices

[00:15:05] and rings and all that with composite instruments along with some of the nicest hygiene

[00:15:10] instruments I've ever seen uh yeah so now Garrison is the United States distributor for LM instruments

[00:15:16] so I just think that's really really cool so and of course I saw my friends at Zurc I saw my friends

[00:15:22] at iva klar I saw I saw lots of people I honestly I was busy enough recording stuff for you lovely

[00:15:30] people that I probably didn't see as much as I would have wanted to and that's the reason next year

[00:15:35] I got to try it you know unfortunately lines up with that that weekend that my uh my kids gonna be

[00:15:42] he's gonna be gonna be doing stuff for his uh his the band festival but if I can get there

[00:15:48] for longer next year I will I I remember what so awesome about Chicago but I also remember

[00:15:55] what's so awesome about recording podcasts all day is that you're really tired at the end of

[00:15:59] the day holy cow I can't believe how whipped I am so anyhow that's that was kind of some of the stuff

[00:16:04] I saw on the floor and last I would like you guys for the for the rest of February which is just a

[00:16:09] few days now uh Zurc is given away a free mirrorhead if you want to try I've been I've been

[00:16:15] bragging about the the hd mirrors forever and I know I've had it in an ad spot for February 2024

[00:16:22] but I'm gonna just put this out here if you want to try a free HD uh mirrorhead by

[00:16:29] Zart crystal HD mirrorhead you should by the way there there you you'll never go back once

[00:16:35] you use when they're so much better I know people like whoo how can one mirrorhead be better it's

[00:16:39] just trust me on this one you need to go to zirk.com slash very dental and give them some information

[00:16:45] they I think it I think you give your address and phone number and maybe email or something like that

[00:16:49] in uh and they'll send you a free mirrorhead which is which is worse something but once you try it

[00:16:53] realize that they give the first one for free that's the addiction to the crystal HD mirrors but

[00:16:59] it makes dentistry so much better it makes dentistry so much better and like I said they're giving

[00:17:03] it away for free so do that zirk.com slash very dental that only goes to the end of February 2024

[00:17:10] as far as I know um so you should you should take advantage of that now for sure so something else

[00:17:15] I wanted to throw out there that I find interesting I had one of the things that these meetings are

[00:17:22] funny and I learned this as as a once we started the podcast and we're starting to work with companies

[00:17:29] you know with with advertising or being on the show or whatever you know these dental companies

[00:17:34] their big business no matter what like I I know that it's hard to describe how it works with them

[00:17:43] because I don't exactly know I've only been I've been a consumer of their stuff and then of course

[00:17:47] I there's when we're working with a company or when I'm working with a company whether it's for

[00:17:51] advertising or just even having them on the show or whatever you kind of see a little bit of the

[00:17:57] inside game it's very interesting because like these companies are filled with human beings how can

[00:18:06] I can say nothing more than that like like you think of of the people that you buy their products

[00:18:12] that they're just this this you know this company but it's all a bunch of people in there

[00:18:16] and what is interesting to me is you think that they understand you as a dentist perfectly well

[00:18:23] in that they just they tailor their messages to to really hit on all the cylinders with you

[00:18:29] and I have had a little bit of insight about marketing for dental manufacturers and dental companies

[00:18:36] just over the last years or so but I but definitely in Chicago for one thing when you go to one of

[00:18:41] these meetings yes they have they typically when they talk about meetings are dying because it's

[00:18:45] expensive for these companies to have a presence at these meetings the booths are expensive and you

[00:18:50] know of course there's some expectation of a huge party and get together like it's that's an

[00:18:55] expensive thing in a lot of cases they're not doing a lot of sales so they might have used to back

[00:19:01] in the day back before the internet was a thing they may have done a lot of sales because a lot of

[00:19:04] people literally didn't see this stuff until they got there but but now I think most of the consumers

[00:19:09] of dental products are pretty savvy and they kind of know what they're looking for so when everyone

[00:19:14] talks about well dental meetings are dying I think some of them are I think mid-winner like the big

[00:19:19] ones like mid-winner and henman and greater New York they'll probably keep going but I mean

[00:19:23] some of the companies don't have a presence or have a super tiny presence compared to what they

[00:19:28] used to they really do I they I think they're they are just looking at their measurements as best

[00:19:34] they can and saying okay this isn't this isn't a worthwhile spend but what is interesting to me

[00:19:41] is that the kind of information that you assume those companies know about you as a consumer

[00:19:48] as a dentist they don't have that much information about information about you okay so you heard

[00:19:55] me singing the blues a couple months back about how all podcasts essentially are at the at the

[00:20:03] mercy of Apple because Apple is the one who gives us the information about downloads Apple

[00:20:10] essentially was the very first distributor of podcasts and frankly I think all podcasts on some

[00:20:16] level are distributed through Apple yes I know Joe Rogan and some some some podcasts used to be

[00:20:23] Spotify only but you know when he went Spotify only he took a huge hit in listenership and

[00:20:29] he's sort of quietly come back on now you can you can get Joe Rogan's podcast on your iPhone through

[00:20:34] the through the podcast app like it used to be only Spotify but they've changed now hmm why would

[00:20:39] why would they change back because they're missing a lot of listeners so Apple kind of has us

[00:20:44] has us at their mercy I get it I've I've I've sort of come to grips with that even though my my

[00:20:50] download numbers now are significantly lower in comparison just just the numbers that I get I don't

[00:20:57] think that that actually means anything I think the the reach of the show is what it's always been

[00:21:02] it's just what they count as a download has changed significantly in any case the frustration that I

[00:21:09] have with Apple and the amount of information I know about who's listening and how long it was

[00:21:15] I got I have nothing there's no information there I'm not sure if that information is actually

[00:21:20] collected or they're just not sharing and I'm not sure which that is but but the reality is like

[00:21:25] it's kind of blind when I come on here or I've done surveys in the past and stuff like that

[00:21:30] it's because I don't really know the only thing I know about you guys are the people who joined

[00:21:34] the Facebook group the comments that I see on you know on the podcast app or whatever so yeah if

[00:21:40] you want to let me know I'm doing terrible or great it'd be nice if you leave reviews because

[00:21:44] that that gives me so I get almost no reviews anymore used to get when we were the dental hacks early

[00:21:49] on man we got a ton of reviews and that was really helpful feedback but we just get almost no

[00:21:53] reviews now so it's hard to know but the reality is as a business as a pod I don't know very much

[00:22:00] about my my audience I know some because of the interaction within the Facebook group and that sort

[00:22:05] of thing and people that private message mean stuff like that I in frankly the super fans who let

[00:22:09] me know what's going on are very very helpful that was not my I wasn't my intention to to invite

[00:22:16] commentary about the podcast and letting me know how I'm doing but hey if you want to I'm happy

[00:22:20] to hear it one way or the other in any case I sat down with multiple companies this weekend

[00:22:24] and in different marketing meeting capacities and they suffer the same thing okay they don't know okay

[00:22:32] a lot of times they are able to find out how a consumer has learned about the product whether

[00:22:40] it was a phone call whether it was a magazine whether it was from a website or an email blast

[00:22:46] or something like that they're able to find out on some level where the consumer may have seen it

[00:22:52] although even that information seems to be a little bit foggy but when asked about how their

[00:22:57] their first contact to purchase of a product they don't know anything I mean they would probably

[00:23:03] tell you otherwise but what I can tell is they are they don't know much and so when I hear these

[00:23:10] people that really know a lot about marketing and and they're still they still have really hard

[00:23:15] time knowing what what strategies are to get there get the word out and get people understanding their

[00:23:21] product and stuff like that like there's kind of a void there like I have to tell you I was in these

[00:23:25] meetings I'm not going to tell you who I was with but I was in these meetings and I felt like I

[00:23:30] was actually quite helpful to these people just because I'm like a normal wet finger dentist who

[00:23:36] I hate the term wet finger but you know I see patients I see patients and I run an office and so

[00:23:41] I think that you as a consumer should know that I think you need to know that

[00:23:48] the savvy marketers out there that are creating products and and add buys and trying to get their

[00:23:54] information they don't quite know how to reach you and they don't quite know what works they don't

[00:24:00] quite know everyone selling something all the time yes that's true but the reality is they don't

[00:24:05] really know what works I'm sort of as a regular guy and a consumer of these products they're not

[00:24:12] sure what works and so you need to know that and whether that means you contact your favorite

[00:24:17] companies and you do a you know you let them know about why these products are great on stuff or

[00:24:23] just understand that like the ad spends it's just insane how much money they spend on advertising

[00:24:28] and marketing and how little information they get back I was I always assumed that they just

[00:24:34] knew right down to that you know it was a matter of it was a matter of pushing buttons to get people

[00:24:38] to buy it's just not the case they really don't know I think a lot of times they don't know the best

[00:24:42] way to get the word out about their products and they also don't know the you know it's hard for them

[00:24:47] to track you know first contact of with a product to when someone buys it how many times do you

[00:24:53] have to hear about the trio's five before you make the purchase is it best to see it in person at

[00:24:57] the Chicago midwinter or is a webinar better I mean that's just you know there's a million ways

[00:25:02] that they can contact you and give you information but they don't have any idea what works so on some

[00:25:07] ways it's kind of a powerful situation for the consumer because they don't know as much as you

[00:25:12] think they do as as a regular guy who's been buying dental products for 20 some years they really

[00:25:17] don't know that much it's it and and I'm not saying that to in a nasty way to them it's just I

[00:25:23] almost feel for them in a little bit in a little bit because they're nice people that are that have

[00:25:26] good products that they're trying to get to people yes they're trying to take your money but

[00:25:29] they're also trying to give you amazing products as well so understand it's just it was I had a chance

[00:25:36] as a podcaster and someone who works with some of these companies to see a little bit of inside

[00:25:40] baseball and understand that they are yes they're trying to find the best way to get their products

[00:25:46] into your hands and take your money yes but the reality is they know they believe in their products

[00:25:50] that's the one thing every every every one of them feels like their product is the best and

[00:25:56] their product is the one that you should be using because they have put a lot of time effort

[00:26:00] blood sweat and tears into the product and they want you to know why so it's I know I it sounds

[00:26:05] a little bit polyannish to say it that way but I really feel like I don't know man I can't believe

[00:26:11] I'm saying about I kind of feel bad for dental marketers even though sometimes it feels like they

[00:26:14] just are stuff and stuff down your throat I will say this I think they're starting to see

[00:26:19] that maybe magazine ads don't have as much value as they used to and I think they're changing around

[00:26:24] a little bit as a podcaster that that warms my heart because clearly podcasting and in this kind of

[00:26:32] upstart media kind of thing is a little is a little new to them they don't quite know what to make

[00:26:37] of it but I think I think it's doing well for them actually so it's that's a that's a hopeful thing

[00:26:41] as a podcaster all right folks I'm gonna be better about letting you guys know when I'm going

[00:26:46] to these meetings in advance in case you want to come podcast with me or just come see me I had

[00:26:51] a really good time ran into some listeners and thank you for saying hello because a lot of times

[00:26:56] I'm sort of bleary eyed from podcasting or or distracted by all these things so it was really

[00:27:01] nice when people would approach me and say hello and I think the guys at Cadre for having

[00:27:06] over their booth for so long and I think that I think the people that I have a car for having

[00:27:10] me at their booth so long and I think Zirk for for saying hello and being part of it and honestly

[00:27:17] Innova same story Innova's booth was fantastic I really appreciate them showing me all their new

[00:27:21] products so I can tell you guys about it and I gotta tell you there's a lot of stuff there that's

[00:27:26] pretty cool you guys should be taking a look at and I hope next next time I hope that we have a

[00:27:31] giant very dental contingent that all goes out for ramen with me because that's what I had the

[00:27:35] first night I went out for ramen the first night was freaking awesome so we should do that sometime

[00:27:39] and thanks a ton for listening go join the Facebook group and if you do you need to pass where

[00:27:43] it's going to be let's see Timmerman McQuethy Hornbrook Lipscomb or Papa Randy any of those five

[00:27:50] or all five in any order will get you into the very dental podcast group I have to say I would love

[00:27:55] your feedback I was thinking about this as I was mountain biking recently

[00:28:00] I limit the number of people that come into the very dental Facebook group because I want

[00:28:04] it to be podcast listeners only the dental hacks nation which is now the dental disrup

[00:28:10] nation run by Jason when we put that together originally I think we thought we're gonna try and

[00:28:15] make it podcast people but it did not end up that way and we just had dental people and we kind

[00:28:19] of let them go wild and crazy and that was a great group but it was full of garbage fires and lots

[00:28:25] of create all the bad stuff about social media where people yell and scream and troll and all that

[00:28:30] stuff that happened in that group but it had so much interaction and people felt comfortable coming

[00:28:36] and asking questions you know the way that dental town used to be back in the day

[00:28:40] and in the very dental Facebook group is great but it is not that because I really have limited

[00:28:46] the number of people and I was thinking about it when I was mountain biking maybe I should just

[00:28:50] start inviting dental people in there whether they're podcast listeners or not and see what happens now

[00:28:54] if you're saying no no no I want you to DM me I want you to let me know or even say it in the Facebook

[00:28:58] group I'm just curious if I open that up to more people and it would grow pretty quickly I think

[00:29:03] I think we probably double and triple pretty quickly because it's less than a thousand people still

[00:29:07] it's just mostly podcast listeners and maybe the people that have been on the podcast I'd be

[00:29:11] curious to know what you think about that and I thank you all for listening to the show

[00:29:15] the midwinter was spectacular it was real shot in the arm and frankly it was real shot in the

[00:29:20] arm for podcast I feel great about the show I feel so good about the show I have such good content

[00:29:25] for you from the show and I have a bunch of content that's that I'm going to be recording remotely

[00:29:29] with people too that I'm very excited so we got great stuff coming up I appreciate you guys listening

[00:29:33] and we will catch you next episode
