[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And one of the things I like about Lance is he has a unique slash eclectic musical taste.

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Pressure on Lance and let's say, you know, the first episode, Zach and I visited you to go to some restaurants in Seattle.

[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_02]: But let's say that we're just sitting around like, you know, sitting around one night just, you know, chatting away.

[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Tell me a band that you love that we may not know of, that we need to know of.

[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_00]: There are so many.

[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I know how you are.

[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, just last week, fortunately my daughters, I raised them looking for the same type of eclectic music and things.

[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_00]: And so just recently my daughters and it really was a play.

[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_00]: So I would buy the tickets.

[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_00]: So we would go as a family.

[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_00]: So we all went to see Mount Joy in concert last week.

[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_00]: You guys from Lee with not Joy?

[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that's one of the bands my son likes, but what kind of music is Mount Joy?

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I was going to say what's the genre here?

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be closer to like luminaires.

[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so it's kind of a full.

[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they, they're apparently pretty well known in that genre.

[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_00]: So, so to prepare for the concert at a crash course on it because I wasn't that familiar with them.

[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_00]: All right, I wasn't familiar all into my daughter.

[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_00]: So for the last two weeks, I made a playlist to play at the office and so my wife works the office.

[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_00]: She is sick of Mount Joy.

[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_00]: And then I said, well we got them watching tonight.

[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_00]: So sorry, I'll play Kingsley on this morning and so that's tonight.

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to hate, hate Matt Joy when you're seeing live.

[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_03]: What?

[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_03]: So what is Mount Joy's like most popular song maybe we can have Alan put it in the show notes or something like that?

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_03]: What's their biggest hit?

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_00]: See, the thing is I'm not sure what their biggest hit is.

[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_00]: My, the one I was hoping they would play was called Death.

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_00]: But they, they don't particularly play it on live.

[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I guess.

[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_00]: But the one that I, I, I guess their first one that kind of put them on the map was called Astrovan.

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Jesus drives an Astrovan.

[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_02]: That's the, okay.

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_00]: It was, yeah.

[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_00]: It's, it's just a fun quirky little folkie.

[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think they opened for luminaires for a tour and that would have been a perfect bill because I think this,

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_00]: the style was exactly the same style.

[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I have seen that luminaires in concert.

[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_03]: They've found four or you two years ago.

[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh cool.

[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_03]: One of their shows.

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, I've seen a very cool.

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_03]: The luminaires are very good.

[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_03]: That was a very good mindset.

[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_00]: So Mount Joy, you know, normally I'm partial to Manchester acts like Oasis just announced that they're going to ignite and so I might fly to Manchester to see him just as,

[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_00]: so I could.

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_00]: But the, the, the,

[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Mount Joy is from LA.

[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Although the two of the main founders are from Philadelphia.

[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_00]: So there's a Philly LA vibe to them.

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Interesting.

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_03]: But it's a newer act.

[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_03]: This is, I know you, because I know you like the 80s acts as a, this newer, yeah.

[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_03]: I, I always go deep.

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's go.

[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_03]: What?

[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_02]: How is it?

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_03]: So we've discussed what you just, you changed your mind on clinically and business wise.

[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Now, you made it like major like life-linities over your practicing career.

[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Early on, so it's not a recent change my mind kind of thing.

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Early on, I realized that if you wait too long for things,

[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_00]: you may not get the opportunity for them.

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_00]: So, and it really was driven home.

[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I lost my dad about two years ago and it was driven home.

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_00]: He brought me up.

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I started skiing when I was 10.

[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_00]: And, and I think I got pretty good.

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Really wasn't a hill I wouldn't go after.

[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I am old enough and fat enough to realize I shouldn't hit them anymore.

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Because falling at this weight when I was 16 falling then I was only 150 pounds.

[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_00]: That didn't hurt that much.

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_00]: It hurts a lot more and I got a lot more to lose.

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_00]: But if I break an arm or anything.

[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_00]: So, but we used to talk about traveling to ski in Europe and things.

[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_00]: In the last couple years I've made sure that I got to ski at Zermatt two years ago went to ideas.

[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Nice.

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_00]: So I got to ski the base of, you know, in the matter of where.

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_00]: This last season we flew into Milan to just because I had never been there before.

[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_00]: So we did a couple days of Milan and then we made our way up to Samarits and ski in Samarits.

[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_00]: And that was a march.

[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Wow.

[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_00]: That's awesome.

[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_00]: And then when we on the way home I flew out of Vienna instead because, well, I already did Milan already.

[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_00]: So let's come out of.

[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_00]: So we drove to Salzburg on the way.

[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_00]: So I get to, I did sound a music tours and stuff.

[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_00]: So the traveling now because as my dad wanted to do more things he just wasn't physically able to.

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_00]: And I thought, well, I better go to these things.

[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Because I kept putting things on some day I'm going to do this.

[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Some day I'm going to go to see that and now.

[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And what I found out it actually cost more for me to ski in Whistler than it did to Samarits.

[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_00]: And Samarits is supposed to be the high end where all the billionaires go.

[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_00]: And there's definitely that there.

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_00]: There was a hotel across the street from where my hotel was.

[00:07:30] [SPEAKER_00]: I paid, you know, 150 and I ate.

[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like 2,000 and night for this high, this hotel across the street.

[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_02]: So you're in the hotel six and across the street was the hotel six million.

[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I mean, every on the chair lift they've got the post that hold up the cables.

[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Everyone said Prada.

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_00]: So it's like sponsor by.

[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_03]: And what's the vibe or the experience at a Euro ski place versus all the, you know, Rocky Mountain or civic places that like Kevin and I have been to or you've been to what's the vibe like.

[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I think the closest thing to the way to describe it is they're not as courteous.

[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_00]: It's almost like how fast can you go.

[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_00]: They don't want to work on technique or anything.

[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_00]: It just balls down, it just all out and your carving turns everything and all said and they three people just passed you.

[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_00]: And they if you go high enough, Samarits is one where you're pretty much above the Timberline.

[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_00]: And so there's no trees at this area.

[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_00]: And so it's just sheets and fields of white and then they've, they've groomed the area that they suggest that you scan.

[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_02]: That's very much been on my mind and we're going away tomorrow to Florida because we can't, you know, we're healthy enough with just doing now.

[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_02]: But the other part of it is that, you know, Zack and I are big skiers.

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_02]: We, you know, Zack takes this kid's, I taught myself not a ski when he was four and, you know, Charlie lives in Salt Lake City right now, half hour from Park City and we go there a lot, but he's always like,

[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_02]: we should go to Japan or we should go to Switzerland or whatever and, you know, I really got to seriously consider that because

[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_03]: For Japan's amazing.

[00:11:10] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I've heard that and I haven't put one of those on my, those kinds of mountains on my bucket list yet.

[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, I don't know anything about it except for what Charlie's like, we need to go to Japan.

[00:11:23] [SPEAKER_03]: I've watched some YouTube's on it. It looks cool. I guess I can't let's go in all the places in the landstress mentioned, I've watched videos of those resorts and that high timber line stuff seems very different than Colorado.

[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing kids, people next to you right before IDS.

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know where that is.

[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Kids feels an Austria.

[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, cool.

[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_00]: But you're right.

[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Go ahead.

[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_00]: It's a business expense, right? I'm going to the IDS.

[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to the IDS.

[00:11:54] [SPEAKER_03]: But you're right though, this has been a common theme, a common theme of either like do things now because we all know people who waited and then reach to point where they couldn't do what the things they wanted to do.

[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Or they had the heart attack that retired on Wednesday and on Thursday they died.

[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, or that.

[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Or that.

[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Or, you know, we've also talked to health with a number of different people who were like, boy, you know, if I do have to delay this thing, I better say and good enough shape to do it.

[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, one of them is hard to do it.

[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know, yeah, get after it, you know, that's for sure.

[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Wait, what did you learn that lesson?

[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_03]: You said, you change your mind not a year ago.

[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_03]: When would you say that kicked in for you?

[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, it was the inferiority complex when I graduated.

[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_00]: So I kept doing CE, but I would travel for the CE.

[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And so I would find excuses to travel.

[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_00]: So then I was like, there's no reason not to travel now.

[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_00]: But but I was traveling for CE.

[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't traveling to enjoy it.

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Your pleasure, right?

[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. And so, um, so when I did Zermot that was on the way to ideas.

[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_00]: So I only did a few days of Zermot and then it was just a.

[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_00]: So when I did the Sam or it's one that was there was nothing mental at all for that trip.

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_00]: So that was a little unusual.

[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_02]: That's amazing.

[00:13:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Kevin, you made that.

[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_03]: You've been that switch lately.

[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_03]: You've gone on some some more significant trips lately here.

[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Would that mindset switch in for you? Was it?

[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, I think that the biggest thing is that, you know,

[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Missy overcoming your fear of flying.

[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay. Sure.

[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll see what I want to do now.

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. Like, like, that's part of the reason we booked this trip because she's like,

[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_02]: We haven't gone anywhere in a month.

[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, well, that's a girl, you know, but yeah.

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that, you know,

[00:13:41] [SPEAKER_02]: talking about bad aspect of it.

[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of our friends are like,

[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, because we went to Croatia, right?

[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_02]: So a common comment is,

[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_02]: while the world has really opened up for you and like,

[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, for,

[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I was always on for me, but I didn't want to go by themselves.

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Sure.

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Did you, did you travel much with Charlie when he was,

[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we attended.

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that we all we went to Alaska.

[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_02]: We went to,

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Where else did we go?

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_02]: We went to,

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Now we did the, you know, like, the Disney stuff and all that.

[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we always, we always travel.

[00:14:18] [SPEAKER_02]: We went to New York City.

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Nice.

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_02]: That sort of thing Chicago.

[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that was a big part of his childhood pressure.

[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Awesome. Awesome. Very good.

[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I like that one, Lance.

[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_03]: You're right though that, you know,

[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Tomorrow's no guarantee.
