[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Here's Kevin and Zach.

[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_03]: What is up, Very Clinical listeners? And welcome back to yet another episode of the podcast.

[00:01:03] [SPEAKER_03]: This is Zach Miners coming to you from Kansas City, Missouri. With me, as always, my trusty co-host, Dr. Kevin Hare Fryer.

[00:01:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Kevin, how are the wins in Cleveland?

[00:01:13] [SPEAKER_03]: The wins or the wins?

[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_04]: The INS or INS?

[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_04]: It's windy.

[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Whatever you want me to, whatever you heard.

[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_04]: It's windy here a lot.

[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And last I checked, our Indians slash guardians were beating the Royals two to one.

[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_04]: But by the time this comes out, it will already be late September.

[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll be in the playoffs almost.

[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, probably.

[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Hopefully the pesky twins will not have caught either of us and the Indian slash guardians will be going into the playoffs.

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_04]: There we go.

[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_03]: As promised, Dr. Melissa Zettler is returning all the way from Minnesota.

[00:01:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Melissa, what's happening this evening?

[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Not much.

[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Hanging out with two awesome guys.

[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Who are they?

[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Hey, Melissa, I've been watching your TV in the background the whole time.

[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_03]: What are you watching back there?

[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_03]: What in the world is that show?

[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Where?

[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Behind you.

[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh.

[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even know my TV was on.

[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_00]: It looks like an alien brain dissection.

[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_03]: It was really weird.

[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_03]: And so I was like, I've been like, this has been the background.

[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, what the hell is she?

[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Does she watch in the evening since I was like, everyone's into their own thing, I guess, but it was just really strange.

[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_00]: It's paramount and I'm pretty sure it's an alien dissection.

[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, perfect.

[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_00]: All right.

[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_03]: This makes for great radio.

[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_03]: I'd be asking what's on your TV.

[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_03]: But you know, here we are.

[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_04]: With my blue on.

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Here we go.

[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_04]: That should be the bit.

[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_04]: When's the last time you watched an alien dissection?

[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_00]: You can incorporate it into your practice.

[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Monday morning.

[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_03]: We, we talked about a recap of, of some of summer travels last time.

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_03]: And Melissa wanted to know for our bit this evening, if we had any upcoming fall winter travels here.

[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_03]: So I'll let, since Melissa thought of it, you get to go first.

[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Now, once lake season is done, what's your, what's your fall schedule looking like?

[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_00]: So my kids are both in college.

[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_00]: So we are trying to do like a fun trip every fall.

[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_00]: And this September, we're going to the Galapagos Islands.

[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Really?

[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Whoa.

[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Awesome.

[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_03]: That's cool.

[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_04]: How long are you going to be there?

[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, only, um, the whole trip will be 10 days.

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_04]: So not only 10 days.

[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_04]: That's, I mean, that's perfect.

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Where do you fly into?

[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Thanks, Kevin.

[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, that's the first time I ever did that in my whole career.

[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_04]: That's the other part of that.

[00:03:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Where do you, where do you fly to, to go to the Galapagos?

[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_03]: How does that, how does that travel pattern work?

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_00]: So we're fine.

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_00]: We have to Atlanta, Atlanta to Quito, Ecuador, and then Quito, Ecuador to Baltra.

[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_00]: And then we take a little puddle jumper plane to the island that we're getting on the boat from.

[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Super cool.

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm hoping so.

[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to swim with penguins.

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna see a blue footed boobie.

[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be great.

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Anytime you can see boobies, I'm all for that.

[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_03]: It's, it's a good thing.

[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a good thing indeed.

[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Boobies or not?

[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Yep.

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Kevin, what, do you have anything?

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't, I feel like most of it should have gone last.

[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.

[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_03]: I just blew that out.

[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Like that's, I was gonna say, I'm a, I'm, I just got blown away.

[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, what, you got anything?

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_04]: For fall.

[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_04]: So, um, uh, friend of the show and my son, Charlie, uh, bought a house two days ago.

[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, in Salt Lake?

[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_04]: In Salt, well, Draper, which is a suburb of Salt Lake.

[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_04]: So, um,

[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a big deal.

[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_04]: It is a big deal.

[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_04]: It's been, there's been a lot of back and forth and, you know, like when your kids are

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_04]: little, Zach, you help them with certain problems.

[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And then when your kids are in college, Melissa, you help them with a little different.

[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And then you start getting questions about houses and mortgages, all that sort of stuff.

[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Insurance.

[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Yep.

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_04]: So that's an inspections and all that sort of stuff.

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_04]: But anyway, um, once they move in, we're gonna hop out there and check out the new house

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_04]: and see what's, what's cracking there.

[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_00]: That sounds awesome.

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_04]: That's cool.

[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, I don't normally do any fall travel cause the kids are in school, but they actually

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_03]: have a, um, um, they have a fall break in October.

[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_03]: That's just long enough that we're going to take a quick trip out to Colorado Springs

[00:05:27] [SPEAKER_03]: and do like garden of the gods and Pike's peak and that kind of stuff.

[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_03]: So that's a short, short, quick hitter from, from Kansas city.

[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_03]: But we, we drive through all these places in Colorado on the way to skiing.

[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_03]: And it's like, we don't ever stop at any of them cause we're, we want to ski.

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_03]: So we're gonna do some of those things.

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Melissa, are you a skier?

[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Downhill.

[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, great.

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_04]: So, um, you know, those are coming up.

[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Those are in the winter, winter, winter.

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_04]: This was fall.

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_03]: She's got slopes in her, in, in her area though.

[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_03]: She's got decent, Minnesota's got decent slopes.

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_00]: No.

[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I grew, well, my dad was military.

[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_00]: So we skied like depending on where we lived, if there was mountains and stuff, but I'd never

[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_00]: skied anything other than a mountain till I came up here to go to St. Olaf college.

[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And we went to this little hill called Welch, um, Welch area.

[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And, um, I, it was kind of like, what?

[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I, uh, how many times can you go up and down in 10 minutes?

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Where's your go-to ski place now?

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_00]: We haven't skied for a couple of years.

[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, because one of my daughters has decided she doesn't like to do that anymore, but we

[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_00]: love going to big sky.

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.

[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Excellent.

[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_03]: My sister likes to go there.

[00:06:41] [SPEAKER_03]: She loves the fly in there.

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_03]: That's, that's cool.

[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_03]: That's a nice place.

[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_03]: It is huge.

[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_00]: We really liked it.

[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_00]: We've always had a really good time there.

[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_00]: It's easy to get to.

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_00]: It's not quite as crowded.

[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Yep.

[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Yep.

[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Very good.

[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_03]: That's that'll be, that's good stuff.

[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Your kids there in the winter, Zach.

[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, so what we did was we'd ski for a couple of days and then we went to Yellowstone in

[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_00]: the winter.

[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_00]: That's cool.

[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, in the winter.

[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Wow.

[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Super fun.

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't think about that.

[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_00]: No crowd.

[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_03]: I, it's Denver's or I mean, you know, Summit County is close enough that I can, I can drive

[00:07:18] [SPEAKER_03]: that pretty easily.

[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_03]: That's, it's tough to pass that up.

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, I, big sky does seem cool as well.

[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_03]: And I've got my own gear.

[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_03]: I like to put it in the truck and just drive.

[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_03]: So I don't know.

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_03]: I'll, I'll get to big sky one day, but not anytime soon.

[00:07:30] [SPEAKER_00]: It's worth it.

[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_03]: But all right.

[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, okay.

[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_03]: So third series, Melissa, we're going to, we're going to dig deep into your life here

[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_03]: and decide whether you've changed your mind or anything just in life in general over the

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_03]: practicing course of your career here.

[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Life in general.

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_00]: So some personal, some practice.

[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_00]: So personally, um, when I first started out, I felt like we really couldn't take vacation

[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_00]: and that I couldn't take time off that I needed to like always be on call.

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I had to like call people back right away and, um, be so accessible and you don't, I

[00:08:15] [SPEAKER_00]: mean, I wish that we had, um, found a way to maybe do a little bit more earlier on in

[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_00]: our lives.

[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_00]: We're trying hard to make for up for it all now, but, um, yeah, I just really felt like

[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_00]: we couldn't do it.

[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_00]: And then when we had our children, um, we didn't have like a real easy path to parenthood.

[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_00]: And you know, I, I, I regret not doing more time off when they were younger, but again,

[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I felt like I really couldn't.

[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, my husband chose to work part time when we had our two kids.

[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_00]: So we had two kids within six months of each other.

[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Whoa.

[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, so it was a little crazy making for a little while there.

[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_00]: And, um, I mean, I wasn't like overworked by any means, but I kind of wish I would have

[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_00]: taken off more time than I did.

[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_00]: We didn't really take vacations.

[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_00]: It was just the Friday off.

[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_00]: So I would say, make the time, take it off, go on the field trips.

[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be fine.

[00:09:17] [SPEAKER_03]: That that's, that's a tough one to learn.

[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_03]: And that's, you know what, when I did, we did this series on myself.

[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_03]: That was something that, uh, that I had to tell myself to do that.

[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Like, you know, my kids were only going to be younger once and only around for so many

[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_03]: years.

[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_03]: And if I didn't get after it and do this stuff that I was going to regret it down the road.

[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_03]: So I, I, that's something I hope I figured out in time that we're having a, we're having

[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_03]: a pretty good time now, but yes, that's a tough one to do.

[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_00]: So right.

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_00]: We're about like, I'm going to say third grade.

[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_00]: That's when it finally clicked.

[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know what?

[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_00]: We need to start like doing more stuff.

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_00]: And, um, yeah, I mean, just as you know, creates like really nice memories and.

[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah.

[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, uh, brings your family together in ways like when you don't have the polls of sports

[00:10:08] [SPEAKER_00]: and friends and everybody else, it's just like you guys in this place.

[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_00]: It's different than when you're home.

[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_00]: And you have their attention in a different way.

[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes.

[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_03]: So that's exactly the way I feel about it.

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_03]: And I mean, it sounds like you and I do a lot of the same thing.

[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_03]: I, the boating thing is a very awesome family together.

[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_03]: It's an activity.

[00:10:31] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it did everyone's, everyone's confined on that boat.

[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that's, that's it.

[00:10:34] [SPEAKER_03]: And there's no screens and there's no nothing.

[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_03]: And you're just having a good time and the ski trips are the same way.

[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_03]: So that, though, that combo, that one, two punch is like, I mean, you really get to interact

[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_03]: with your kids in a, in a cool way, doing some of those like physical sports and activities.

[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_04]: There have been, I know Kevin thinks that many, many memories made on the ski lift.

[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Inside jokes.

[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Talking about life there.

[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_04]: There's a joke between Charlie and I that comes up every single time where we've gone

[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_04]: skiing and it's something is so stupid, but it makes us laugh still.

[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, yeah, all, all of those definitely were, uh, worthwhile.

[00:11:14] Yeah.

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_00]: But it's definitely hard when you're starting out and like money's tight and you've got all

[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_00]: the daycare and the whatever loans that you have for practice and personal.

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_00]: And, um, you know, a week away is a week without production.

[00:11:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.

[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Sure.

[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_00]: It's, it's hard to, to change that mindset.

[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_00]: At least it was for me because I felt a lot of pressure to, um, produce and to make a

[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_00]: certain amount a month.

[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_00]: And I am the breadwinner in my house and it, it, it felt really weighty.

[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, but I get it.

[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_00]: In hindsight, you know, we probably could have done with less and taken more time away,

[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_00]: but I mean, nobody's like, everybody's fine.

[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Everybody's sure.

[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_00]: It didn't have to be as stressful as it was.

[00:12:08] [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, I also think the, at least this, the way I felt was that you were in this mindset

[00:12:13] [SPEAKER_03]: of if I'm gone a day, someone's going to leave my practice and go somewhere else.

[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, they're going to have an emergency and they're going to go somewhere else.

[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Or they're going to be mad or they're going to quit or something's going to happen, you

[00:12:24] [SPEAKER_03]: know?

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_00]: And I still battle with that now.

[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Like our trip that we're taking to the Galapagos, one of my sisters is like, well, I don't want

[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_00]: a week off just cause you're getting a week off.

[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_00]: And now I'm just fine.

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Then come in and work, find something to do where before I would have been like, oh my gosh,

[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_00]: no, I can't have everybody have a week off.

[00:12:43] [SPEAKER_00]: They don't want it.

[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I have to come in and work.

[00:12:46] Yeah.

[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_03]: I get it.

[00:12:49] Yeah.

[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, I absolutely get that.

[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Did you have a second one, Melissa?

[00:12:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, so, and then the other thing, um, I thought about a lot is you read a lot on Facebook

[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_00]: about these team gifts and stuff.

[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_00]: And it makes me crazy.

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, Kevin.

[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that anybody has ever stayed because you gave them, um, a thousand dollars.

[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm hmm.

[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, I had a year where I was, did really well and I gave divided amongst my team.

[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I think it was 10% of my profit a lot.

[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_03]: That's a lot of money.

[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was.

[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And I felt like it was really generous and they were mildly grateful.

[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_00]: And then the,

[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Mildly grateful.

[00:13:41] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a great band name.

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Number one.

[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And number two, it really describes what happened.

[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_00]: So it was, and then, so the next year I had a good year, but not as good.

[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_00]: So I said, I'm still going to give you this, but this time, instead of covering the taxes

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_00]: for you, you're going to cover the taxes.

[00:14:02] [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of money.

[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_00]: All they had to do.

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Now they're mildly ungrateful.

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh.

[00:14:06] [SPEAKER_00]: It was awful.

[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_00]: So at that point I'm like, never again.

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm, I try to be generous and I try to give meaningful things and things that say,

[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_00]: thank you.

[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_00]: But when I read this, you should give him a thousand dollars a year.

[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, what?

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_00]: No, no.

[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, be generous and grateful, but I mean, what job you go to where like, they give you

[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_00]: a $10,000 bonus, you know, as an hourly employee, not, I'm not talking like you're,

[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_00]: you know, an executive or something who, so I try to do nice things, but I would say,

[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_00]: just no.

[00:14:49] [SPEAKER_00]: But don't.

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Just don't.

[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Be generous and be reasonable.

[00:14:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Just don't.

[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Because they're not like, yeah.

[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_00]: And it is your money.

[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_00]: People forget that everything that you hand out is your, it is your money that you could

[00:15:03] [SPEAKER_00]: have put into a piece of equipment or a 401k or what really whatever you wanted.

[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_00]: So maybe that was off topic.

[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.

[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no, no, no.

[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_03]: That's no, absolutely.

[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely.

[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_00]: On, on topic, Kevin, uh, you're, did you guys do something completely different with

[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_00]: that?

[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Am I like the, like, no, I, I agree with you.

[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't, I don't, I'm, I'm off of all that, that, that stuff.

[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_03]: But I think, I think Kevin's got a lot of, we're, uh, bonusy type systems, but we've

[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_04]: got several bonus systems going and we're known to be fairly generous.

[00:15:39] [SPEAKER_00]: A bonus system is an earned thing.

[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_00]: A bonus system is.

[00:15:41] Yeah.

[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_04]: We're fairly generous at Christmas time.

[00:15:45] Mm-hmm.

[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And, uh, I've been known to, you know, buy lunch or.

[00:15:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, right.

[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_04]: That sort of stuff.

[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_04]: We do that actually a lot.

[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_04]: But the interesting thing is my sister works with us now.

[00:15:59] [SPEAKER_04]: She used to be a nurse.

[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, she was the head of the oncology, um, department at, at, uh, Cleveland Clinic.

[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And she's like, you're like, this would never happen.

[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_04]: You know?

[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_04]: You're too generous.

[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_04]: You're like, these people don't, I think her exact words are, they don't know how good

[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_04]: they have it.

[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, I, I don't know.

[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what the right balance is, but.

[00:16:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Um.

[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_00]: So I love bonuses cause they're earned and of course like lunch and things like that.

[00:16:39] [SPEAKER_00]: But I don't know for me, but over the top haven't worked.

[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Over the top does not, it doesn't really change anything, especially for the, the mildly grateful.

[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Although I do have one team member that when they get their Christmas bonus every year

[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_04]: has tears in their eyes and is extreme.

[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Look, she's, uh, a remarkable human being all the way around.

[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_04]: So I would give her all everyone's Christmas bonus if I could.

[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, so, you know, there, there, she's an, she's an exception.

[00:17:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Hey, you know, it's, it's, uh, amazing how much difference, you know, going from mildly

[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_03]: grateful to extremely grateful can be for the person on the other end of it.

[00:17:29] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, the giver, you know, I mean, it just, uh, it's, I understand that a hundred

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_03]: percent Melissa.

[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely.

[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_03]: I get it.

[00:17:38] [SPEAKER_03]: I get it.

[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Melissa, thank you for taking time out of your busy, busy life and busy schedule to,

[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_03]: to yap with us for the last couple of weeks here.

[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_03]: We appreciate that.

[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_04]: She's been talking to us for weeks, for three weeks straight.

[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Three weeks straight.

[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Can you believe it?

[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_03]: That's a long time.

[00:17:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Everyone in her household has been neglected.

[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.

[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, if you haven't joined the very clinical Facebook page, Melissa's on there.

[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_03]: I've seen, we've seen her posts.

[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_03]: She's there.

[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Some more cases, Melissa.

[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes.

[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_00]: I can do that.

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_03]: More composite veneers.

[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Those are beautiful.

[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_00]: So I just photographed one today.

[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.

[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_03]: We're going to get tomorrow.

[00:18:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe soon.

[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.

[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Kevin, any final thoughts?

[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_04]: No.

[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, I, you know, this has been, uh, a lot of fun doing this series.

[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I hope the audience has loved it.

[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_04]: We're going to keep going.

[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, we've got a couple more people lined up and you know, maybe this is all we'll ever

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_04]: do.

[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Who knows?

[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe, maybe.

[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe.

[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.

[00:18:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, Melissa.

[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_03]: And we, and, uh, thank you guys for listening and we will see you next Tuesday.

[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_04]: See ya.
